Functioning on the world's worst sleep schedule.

Gained from Kiriko & ML's kotoribako game.

Sleep is now optional for Bonten! ... is what I would like to say, but that's not exactly true. Back when he was "Bonten" with all the powers that came with the title, he had trouble sleeping and would frequently stay awake for days and days at a time before collapsing into minor coma-like sleeps that would last for like what, thirty chapters? another several days. This isn't that skill, because he's not "Bonten" anymore. (WATCH THIS GET JOSSED.)

However, he can draw upon that experience to have a terrible sleep schedule and stay awake a lot if he needs to. It won't be pleasant for anyone, though.

Byakuroku fails at parenting #1: food.

FROM: Three's weights game.
FORM: a little perfume bottle with an emerald cap
SHAREABLE: unlimited (more or less)

4koma under cut )

Byakuroku muses that giving food to one's children is probably a parent's duty. He first tries to give a dead bird to Hiwa, who wonders if Byakuroku's encouraging cannibalism. Then he tries to give fruit to Tsuyukusa, who's a tree ayakashi. Then Byakuroku cries on the Master of the Forest because he fails. Finally, Hiwa wonders what tree ayakashi eat, anyway. Byakuroku tries watering Tsuyukusa in response. Hiwa is unimpressed.

What he learned:
• what. WHAT.

Also, BPAL, I guess. "FALLEN: The essence of overweening pride and unearthly angelic beauty. A regal scent, glowing darkly, elegant and patrician, but unfathomably desolate. Cherubic white sandalwood and golden musk with a dark halo of amber, a breath of imperial florals, unbending woods, and the shadow cast by vetiver and violet."

BONTEN: From now on, your name is Utsubushi.
BONTEN: If you stick with me,
BONTEN: I'll show you a wider sky and a deeper shade of blue.

Chapter 81
BONTEN: By nature, Utsubushi is an ayakashi I created by blending various things.
BONTEN: A shard of a bird ayakashi, an ayakashi's black smoke, corpses and bones from humans and beasts, earth, trees, wings...

YEP. This sure is a memory of creating Utsubushi! The current revelations about Utsubushi are obviously not included, despite me quoting from last month's chapter about how he was made. That's just there for reference. Basically it's just a memory of the act of creation itself: what we see at the beginning of chapter 25.

MEMORY #18: Seeing Tsuyukusa's battered body after he was attacked by priestesses.

FROM: Ginshu's heart game.
FORM: a necklace with four candy beads
SHAREABLE: 3/4

What he learned:
• He's seen this in Ginshu's heart. So it doesn't really hold any surprises for him. But now he gets to see it from HIS perspective. Greaaat.
• C... confirmation that Byakuroku started this whole incident. And a heaping bit of self-blame for having inadvertently helping make it possible.
• THIS IS A TERRIBLE MEMORY AND HE DOESN'T LIKE IT AT ALL. He's very determined to keep this in the past and move on from it.

SKILL: feather throwing daggers?!

Gained from Dream's moontime exploration game.

This is a skill Bonten pulled out of nowhere in chapter 79! Basically, he can summon razor-sharp feathers that he can then throw with pinpoint accuracy. Doing this for a while seems to start to physically wear on him, so this isn't a skill for a long, drawn-out fight. LOOK GUYS I CAN DO MORE THAN SIT THERE AND LOOK PRETTY!!1!
